I don't grow any plants indoors, maybe I should and these could be a candidate, I like the fact you've labelled them under easy care orchids, perfect for me!
Christine in Alaska
Eileen
Don't be afraid, Christine! I don't know about Alaska but here you can find inexpensive orchids in the grocery store. Simply enjoy and like African violets, don't overwater.
Yes, she is a diva, dear Edith and perfect for autumn. Sing, hum, not yet but very vain ~ whispering to me, as I was shooting her lovely face, to capture her best side :)
Go for it, Eileen. This beauty caught my eye at Trader Joes where orchids are very reasonable, also at Costco.
Thanks Angela. I love her many faces.
This is a new friend, Tyra, and very inexpensive (about $15). We will see about reblooming ... I have great luck with Cymbidiums and Phalaenopsis (Moth Orchids). I must always have at least one blooming orchid in the house and like you, sometimes 'fake it' :)
Yo tengo varias Oncidium pero esta no.
Besos
You have a big heart, Monica, and there is always room for one more :) Isn't this glorious day!
Both hate overwatering, Rosey, but don't let that scare you. Neglect is often good and in this case, rewarding!
Love the oil type painting effect of this orchid.
I know you share my passion for orchids, Jodi. I think this is my first oncidium but truthfully can't remember. Also like you, this orphan orchid followed me home from Trader Joes, often a fine spot for finding inexpensive orchids.
Thank you, Andrea. I only have wildflower Lady's Slipper orchids in my garden but several inside as houseplants. I must go back and check yours out.
Hi Kala. A lot going on in these tiny faces. I now see I should have included the whole plant for perspective.
You are so introspective, IG, and totally agree. Thank you :)
Hi Rose. I'm a bit like a squirrel. As the garden wanes, I tend to gather blooming houseplants that sustain me throughout the long winter months, orchids a must :)
Welcome, Jennifer, and thank you. The warm autumn colors are exactly what drew me to 'my new friend'.
I wish I'd had this information before I managed to kill off a beautiful orchid I got for my birthday back in April! Oh well :p
Lovely!
Thank you, dear Kathryn. Did I perhaps get a bit carried away shooting this extraordinary creature :)
