Lucky, lucky you. I love the Old Mission Peninsula. Did you have a favorite? I love the view at Chateau Chantel. There is a Late Harvest Riesling at Chateau Grand Traverse that is one of my favs and I love Bowers Harbor. Oh heck, I love them all.

Oh yes, dear Lindalou ... I love this annual trip! We've stayed several times at Chateau Chantel and, yes, the view is fantastic, especially at daybreak and sunset. And also at Black Star Farms (the next post on Leelanau Peninsula). I have many posts from these lovely sites ... hard to choose a fav, loving the one we're visiting the best and finding the wines improving with each visit ... we buy more & more each year (always a case from L.Mawby)!
Amazing, Joey. If I hadn't known better I'd of thought I was in California wine country.

What marvelous images ... so enticing ... the landscapes ... the grapes! I envy you this journey... I never knew the land there was so spectacular. Wonderful fall colors and compositions Joey. Still there is the wine! Fabulous trip. Thank you for opening my eyes to the beauty there. Carol

I am a big fan of Napa Valley Wines and try to make it out there at least once a year. I really need to add Michigan tours to my list. What is a good time to visit the Michigan vineyards - FALL?

Thanks for sharing and enjoy your AUtumn.

Oh yes, indeed he was Gail :) The vineyards on rolling hillsides are stunning!

Agree Carolyn! We often say if you could blindflold one and stand them on the shore of the Great Lakes they would think it was the ocean!

Thank you, Carol ... I think it's time for a visit :) Touring the wine country is a delightful adventure ... great food, great scenery, great wine ... we've done it for many years and still have not covered them all!

Hi Bren ... northern Michigan is beautiful in all seasons but I enjoy visiting the wine country during the fall harvest ... the autumn color on the rolling countryside ... stunning!

One of our favorite things to do is visit wineries. Although, we have only been on one real tour (Southern Il.) we love seeing the diversity of each one. And of course tasting and buying the wine. We are lucky to have 2 close to us which we visit regularly. :) Your photos show the beauty of the country up there and I would love to see it.

Ben was a very smart guy!

Glorious photos Joey - and the tantalising promise of equally glorious wine! Oh, to do such a wine tour. I just love a good full-bodied red :)
I'm glad you showed some more photos of wineries. So beautiful with those precise rows of meticulously tended vines.

I've toured wineries in Iowa and Illinois and really enjoy the vineyards. Wish we would have had time for tours when we were in California.

How fun to have you and Himself join us, Nutty :) Aw yes, a full-bodied cab is right up my alley!

More to post from the neighboring Leelanau Peninsula, Marnie. I hope you have an opportunity to visit one day ... it's more than just wine ... it's Michigan wonderful :)

Your collages are brilliant. I just love your composition.
Rosey
What are those white gapes at the bottom right of the first collage? They look awesome!
joey said…
Thank you, dear Rosey ... I love doing them (hard to take a bad photo when the area is so beautiful :)

I believe those handsome grapes are either Pinot Grigio, Pinot Blanc, Gewurztraminer, or Riesling, Monica!
joey said…
... yikes ... or Chardonnay, Monica :!

Hey! I've missed you, I'm still not back at wok, but now the kids are in school I have time to check on blogs again.
I've put some pictures up, so you can see the kids.
Hope you are well

I have missed you too, dear Heather. I'm wiping tears looking at your beautiful children ... you are truly one of the rarest/loveliest 'flowers' in the
'Garden of Life'! Blessed, we met a friend of yours at English Gardens that went camping with you ... I sent (BIG HUGS) 'cause she sees you often. I jotted a note on your site ...
