Lovely photo and I love the saying by Camus.

Don't know when you are headed up to Michigan wine country...but I loved a new winery I went to this summer. It's on the Leelanau Pennisula and it's called 45 North. Give it a try if you can.

Thank you, dear Kathryn ... each image posted is mine :)

Yes indeed, dear Marmee! It's a gorgeous day here a the lake ... very quite, just how I like it :)

Hi Lindalou ~ We are already up north, leaving from our cottage on Mon and, yes, impressed with 45 North, also 2 Lads Winery (featured on ABC Nightly News). Love wine ... love the scenery ... love the food ... this is a yearly trek!
Wonderful, Joey, just wonderful...

A Beautiful work of ART. Gorgeous and inspiring! Love the quote too. Must be hard to be leaving your cottage? ... but then time for other things... with every season ... turn turn turn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKHstR6ndus

Very nice, Joey. A great quote... we have to appreciate the changes in both seasons as gardeners... and we make the most of them. Blessings while you enjoy the serenity of the lake.

Hi Joey, What a beautiful combination. (I always have to ask: How do you do this?) ;-)

Thanks, dear Tatyana. Left this footprint about life since I'll be gone for awhile :)

Happy Autumn, dear Karen, and thanks :)

A joy to see you, Carol, and thanks for your thoughtful words. Actually off to enjoy the joys of another piece of this beautiful state.

You are a dear, sweet Meems. So enjoy sharing our 'yin-yang' gardens. Off Mon leaving our lovely cottage for our annual tour of our awesome wine country :)

Joey, Hello! The quote and photo are wonderful~~ a nice way to end the finally sunny afternoon. I hope you had a good weekend! gail

Thanks, dear Gail, a weekend
'as good as it gets' as I hope your weekend was. Birthday brunch for my sister (both needy with the recent passing of my other sister) and now watching 'the remains of the day', a Golden Hubbard Lake sunset. Off tomorrow to MI wine country with dear friends. Though camera is near, time 'simply watching' is just what I need :)

Lovely image, Joey! Seriously, have you thought about selling these? You have a more than willing customer over here if you ever do... :)

Safe travels, my friend! Enjoy wine country--like I even have to say that, right?!
Hi Joey, do you have good fall color this year? Our leaves, even the maples are going from green to brown with no golds or reds. So disappointing.

Wish we could have our second spring or even an autumn here, dear Joey. It's just been November-like for most of the last two weeks, which makes me worried about what November will be actually like. Guess I'm leaning more towards Sartre and some weather-initiated existential angst than towards Camus these days. ;-)

I've never thought about autumn as a second spring, but I rather like the idea. Thanks for the quote.

You are a dear, Kim, so lucky to have you as a friend:) Perhaps one day soon, as life settles down, I'll get my photos and books out the door ;) In the meantime I'm happy to share. Today was Michigan perfect, traveling with dear friends and simply enjoying ... a needed gift :)

Hi Marnie ... so true! Traveling through upper Michigan during peak viewing, usually stunning, autumn is weak ... green and brown, wondering where is the red & gold! Perhaps the wet summer/early fall is part of the reason ... usually a rich harvest at this time of year, grapes are hanging on the vine, weeks behind for harvest. Regardless, the area is beautiful. Curious how autumn touches us when we return down state. Do you suppose we will be raking leaves in December?

Hi dear jodi! Watching the staff gather beach chairs off the blustery, white-capped beach here on East Grand Traverse Bay, it feels very November-like also. Perhaps the remaining autumn will be a beautiful fall gift for you ... I certainly hope so:)

I agree, it's a lovely thought, Donna, especially since, for many, fall seems like an elusive butterfly.

How sweet, Bren, thank you. Have been here, there, and everywhere viewing beautiuful northern Michigan autumn. Now home, I wish the rain would stop (my garden calls, BIG TIME). Happy weekend gardening!

Thank you, Vickie :) Are you also waiting for the rain to stop?
