Dearest Joey, Italian pasta, Italian bread, Italian parsley, and, although you did not specify them, no doubt Italian tomatoes........nothing for it but to cross the border and sample the fare at first hand. Just off to book my train ticket!!
Yes, dearest Edith, Italian plum tomatoes! This is my daughter's recipe, a family favorite. Oh, and have fun ... knowing you, you will meet someone awesome on the train and have a wonderful tale to tell :)
Thanks imac ... something a bit different for a change.
Aren't the tomatoes amazing, Eileen! We will remember the flavorful harvest come winter!
Thanks for another recipe to add to my collection for making use of my fresh tomatoes. Saturday I made some spaghetti sauce for the freezer, a first, and some salsa. Husband and I are certainly getting more than our recommended daily dose of lycopenes:)
Hi Carol! I love this quote ... Mr. Ho-Hum loves the scent of basil :)
Hope you like this as much as we do, Kala.
Welcome Kidberries! Enjoy :)
This is easy and good, Rose, and as mentioned, my daughter's favorite, perfect when tomatoes are at their peak. (I love it best when she makes it for me :)
Thought you would enjoy this, Monica! Actually, this is an easy recipe ... when tired of Bacon & Doritos on Meijer French Bread, do hope you give this a whirl!
Hey, hi Shady! Fusilli is a long, thick, corkscrew shaped pasta but any fav pasta will do for this recipe. Hope your time in Michigan with grandchildren was memorable. You wouldn't have been able to find me anyway since, running back & forth UP NORTH so much, I barely know where I am ... myself :) Someday we will meet ... I just know it!
Ah yes, the tommy toes are delicious this year :) I like the sound of this dish. Do you have one that uses artichokes, basil and tomatoes? A friend shared a recipe using these ingredients (and maybe feta) last year but it was just verbally and I neglected to write it down. It sounded scrumptious. Your garden is looking glorious! Do you have gardens in both places? It's a lot of work to keep them looking beautiful, I know! Those lake sunsets are truly spectacular and, as usual, your photos are pure delight. Lovely catching up with you today, dear Joey, and thanks so much for stopping by. Wouldn't we love to stretch the end of summer out for at least another couple of months? :)
Hi, dear Kerri! Yes, let's stretch summer :) Always a delight to catch up with you and thank you. My garden here is a full time job, the garden at the lake is pure natural, tweaked a bit :) I cook pasta is so many ways and love artichokes that certainly could be included in this dish. I often simply create pasta dishes with available seasonal veggies and herbs, often adding shrimp, chicken, etc. Endless 'pasta-bilities'! Happy remains of summer :)

Wish I could have worked out a meeting with you while we were in Michigan... but the trip was centered around our grandchildren!!
