Are those chives proper chives? Does this mean I'm going to get flower things on mine? This is too much; I'll tell Mrs IG I plantyed them specifically for the flowers!

It's a win-win scenario!

Joey, These blooms are so bright and lovely. Your talent at arranging your photos is excellent! Wonderful collages as usual. I love the last painted fern shot. The beauty of your work is that each photo stands beautifully alone, as well as, in every grouping. I particularly love the blues and yellows though the reds and purples are truly alluring.

Beautiful ensembles Joey! I used to have azaleas but not now. I am thinking I should find a place for a few as they seem to fill in where my PJM's leave off.

Excellent!
Such fun with photoshop...
My chives, forget- me- nots, sedums, peonies and all the other HARDY perenniels are doing well, but the hanging baskets are still in the garage!!!!
This freezing thing needs to stop!!
Have a wonderful weekend, Joey

Joey, what a beautiful post! Your photos are very clear and crisp. I love the collages...i haven't figured out how to do those.
Great shots!

It's so green there. Not use to such intensity in the green hues living in the South. You really capture the "lushness" of the foliage.

Beautiful!

Yes indeed those are proper chives, IG, and mighty delicious, even the flowers. Try my delightful chive blossom omelette, a spring favorite!

Thank you, Carol. I love May and May flowers! The last is a Japanese Painted Fern that, being a fern fanatic, love and have tons of.

As you can see, Eileeen, I love azaleas that seem very well suited and happy in my garden. May has been stunning!

How sweet, Katarina, as you have always been an inspiration for me. Happy weekend gardening :)

Agree, Kathy. We are at the lake and put my tender annuals in the garage before we left. Enough is enough! Luckily, the weather is lovely today unlike last Saturday when it snowed ... sideways.

Thank you, imac ... the May garden is marvelous!

Thank you, dear Amy. Very easy and fun ... begin with Picasa and you will be hooked!

Thank you, dear Skip! Spring is truly lush here in Michigan. We are at the lake, laden with trillium and wildflowers ... it's beautiful. Wish you were here!

Your azaleas and rhododendrons are simply stunning, Joey! But all your garden is so beautiful right now--it certainly is a place for serenity, a place to forget the "toils and passions of existence." Happy Bloom Day, and I hope you are getting to spend lots of time just enjoying your garden sanctuary.

Gorgeous, Joey! I especially love the painted fern curling through hosta leaves... just beautiful. May is an amazing time in your garden, I see! :)
joey said…
Thanks Kiki ... May has a dazzling way with a spring color rush :)

How kind, Rick. And it's always a joy to hear from you!

Hello, dear Rose, and thank you. May is my favorite garden month, though impossible to keep up let alone photograph. Each day, from morning to night, is unique and why I so marvel.

Love my painted fern, Kim, a signature plant in my garden. Thank you for visiting ... always love hearing from you.

What wonderful collages, and how sad I am to read that your sister cannot see them. Is she at least partially sighted? Diana

Thank you, Robin. I do love my May garden and hope you do include centaurea montana, a lovely flower.

You are always so sweet, Kala. Thank you fun friend :)

Hello Diana, your post was most touching. Thank you for inquiring about my sister who, unfortunately after surviving horrific illness issues, meningitis and 2 bouts of endocarditis where she lost her vision, died this past summer, a heavy time for me. A brilliant woman (lawyer) Nancy spent 2 years (60s) with Peace Corps in Afghanistan and her career with Legal Services in Montana. Her journey is an incredible book.
Hi Joey. Your photos are so beautiful in a dreamy way. It's like walking thru a garden in a dream.

I have to ask about your painted fern. I've had one for about six years. It has neither increased or decreased in size. Every year it is exactly the same. Does yours get larger?
Marnie
joey said…
Thanks, Marnie ... how sweet! Yes, my painted ferns get much larger. I am constantly digging and dividing which seems to make them even happier! I have many used as borders ... I love this plant, one of my favorites! Wish you lived near, I'd love to share :)

What a lovely post, Joey. I am so impressed - you have many talents!
joey said…
Thank you, Jean. My garden has been evolving for over 30 years ... I should find some old shots and amaze myself!

Krista, you are not only very talented yourself but very kind. Thank you.
Your garden is so fair my friend. I love seeing what is different about your garden from mine and also what is similar.~~Dee

good show! I love any of the collections with the ferns. They just perfectly set off any bloom. I also loooove that gorgeous photo of the chives.
joey said…
Thank you, Wendy. Ferns are my favorite plant ... have many but never enough :) Anxious to make my chive blossom omelette!

Joey, your eye for montage is as incredible as your wonderful macro photos. Starting my morning in your garden was just what I needed today, thank you!

Joey:

Steve told me about your site today. I hate to use such a redundant and overused phrase, but your photos are absolutely amazing. You are a brilliant photographer of still life. My mother was a still life painter,my dad loved photography, and my sister is a design photographer. Me? Well, let's just say I'm a "viewer" of photography and completely intrigued! Stunning work throughout!
joey said…
Thank you, anartistsgarden. And you made my day!

Hi Pam! Honored that you stopped by and though we have never met, i feel as though I know you. Thank you for your kind comment and though I take these for myself, photos are for viewing ... if no one looked, it wouldn't be nearly as much fun. Hope it won't be long before we meet ... a garden walk and glass of wine would be fun :)
