WELCOME MARCH & MONDAY MUSE DAY! (FLOWER of the MONTH ~ DAFFODIL)

DAFFODIL

"The sun is brilliant in the sky but its warmth does not reach my face.

The breeze stirs the trees but leaves my hair unmoved.

The cooling rain will feed the grass but will not slake my thirst.

It is all inches away but further from me than my dreams."

Inspiring photos! I am really going to work on learning more about photography this year. I have this great camera and I know I do not use its features effectively.

Hi Joey! Yes, daffs are so bright and cheery, aren't they? It *is* a beautiful sunny day this morning, and the snow is melting (which is great on my street but I do like snow cover for my babies...) I'm hoping to do more winter sowing today, before it gets too late!

Thanks, dear Gail ... oh, Happy March :)

How kind, Eileen, and thank you. With still much to learn, photography for me has been a lifelong experience. I love it!

Hi Monica ... a welcome March greeting (coming in like a lamb) about as good as it gets (but what does that say about the rest of the month)!
And, the day brightens... Yellow Daffodils are so cheerful. Great photo, Joey!

Oh it does seem so far away, dear Joey, doesn't it? Soon, this month for sure, or that is the promise of the calender, we shall see those daffodils! Happy Muse Day! :-)

Dear Joey, What a lovely start to the month: an apt quotation and a splendid, rather unusually coloured daffodil. Happy March, and let us hope that it really does bring spring for everyone.

Ah, bliss. I adore daffodils, where as the poem goes, 'and then my heart with pleasure fills and dances with the daffodils.' I can smell its fragrance from here. They're rather like sunflowers, aren't they: you can't not smile, looking at a daffodil.

March came in like a lamb, Kate. We are enjoying a beautiful sunny day and delightful, considering it's still winter, delightful temps!

I pray March flies by like February, dear Frances. For some reason winter seems short to me this year. Perhaps because, for Michigan, it was so mild :)

Thanks, dear Edith. I liked the quotation because of the author's last name (my maiden name). Have no clue who he is but we must somehow be related! Yes, Happy March :)

I too adore daffs, jodi, and must have a bunch or pot of blooming bulbs near. Luckily, they are everywhere!

Ah, the daffodil. One of my all time favorite flowers! If only the snow would melt so I could see all the new ones I planted this past fall.

i love that certain flowers signify spring is coming soon...the daffodils are one of those. this is the time of year the weather is in flux. i am trying to be patient for spring.
i long for warmer days and the sun shining regularly.

The sun was brilliant in the sky yesterday, as I walked through the neighborhood. But as stated in your poem, the warmth did not reach my face and I had to bundle up. The birds were singing though and that's a good thing.

Happy March, Joey.

I'd love to see the daffodils bloom. Ours are just green points right now.

More snow on the way tonight. We're SOUTHERNERS-so what the heck is happening here?

Cheers,
Cameron

It won't be long now, Robin. Trust you are enjoying this 'hint of spring' ~ 'snow be gone' weather :)

Oh, Happy March, Marmee! I love this time of year and the anticipation of spring.

Looks like another beautiful day to enjoy, Donna! Happy March :)

No hint of green here, Cameron. Mine are still covered with snow but (for us) our March weather is wonderful!

Am anxious to see something green. I did notice, in front, under 4 inches of mulch, that a crocus transplanted when they redid the front of our house last fall, is up or coming up. Just poked through.

Consider yourself lucky, Abe! My garden is still sleeping under a white blanket of snow.

So good to see these cheery little faces popping up.

Spring, and not a moment too soon.

Well, I think a flower with such unparalleled beauty, as the Daffodil, deserves more than just one month in the limelight.
Who's with me! :-)

Joey, my dear, thanks to you and your magnificent Daffodil, I can finally shake the gray and gloomy remnants of yesterday.
joey said…
Don't I wish this was plucked from my garden, Jen! Unfortunately, not so :(

I second that thought, dear Marysol! Especially since we here in Michigan never see them pop in the garden until next month :) So, what happened to our sunny day :(

I can't wait to see the daffodils blooming! I imagine it will be awhile before yours are up, too, Joey. I'm also hoping to see the sun again one of these days:)
Hi Joey. What a lovely picture and poem. About this time of year I am desperate for the first hints of green in the garden and the first warmth of the sunshine on my face.

It is sunny and 40+ here today but as your poem says, there is no warmth in the sunshine. I know winter isn't finished with us yet but I'm grateful for days like this.

Mmm, lovely words Joey!
I've got lots and lots of snowdrops, but my daffodils are only just begining to peek out of the ground. Still, it was finally sunny here today, so there is hope that spring will arrive soon :)
joey said…
Plentiful sun, Rose, but no daffodils yet! Thankful for March, I'm getting hopeful.

I'm loving this 'spring tease' weather we are having, Marnie. Do hope your father is feeling better.

Lots of sun here, Nutty, but the hint of daffs lies under the snow :( Hopefully the next few warmer days will take care of that! Happy March :)

Oh, I love daffodils! What a great shot... you just reminded me to order some for the Cancer Society fundraiser... must do that right now.

Thanks for stopping by earlier! I'm loving your blog too! :o) Pleased to meet you. :o)
