NOVEMBER GLORY ~ 'THE LEAVES OF GOLD CAME TUMBLING DOWN ...'

"Even if something is left undone, everyone must take time to sit still and watch the leaves turn."

~ Elizabeth Lawrence

LEAF ABSTRACT

"How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,
Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colors gleaming in the sun.

At other times, they wildly fly
Until they nearly reach the sky.
Twisting, turning through the air
Till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to earth below
To wait, like children, for the snow."

~ Elsie N. Brady, Leaves

Your images are works of art! Fall really is my favorite time of the year, or at least it is tied with spring!

I want these colors in my house!

Querida Joey, this is my favorite time of year.
Trees are rapidly losing their leaves. But I'm not worried. As long as I have your wonderful photos to provide me with a daily dose of our state's most dramatic color wheel, I'll be happy.
Spectacular leaf collages! Really sums up the best of fall!

What wonders you set before my eyes,
I look in awe at your wonderful art and sighs.
Sad, but true. The leaves fall and too soon it's wintertime--until the next season of leaves makes its magical appearance. Lovely photos, Joey!

Thank you, debsgarden ... I'm with you. Loving spring, I must 'fall into fall' but once there, I am in awe!

And thank you, dear Helen. May November treat us well!

Fun friend, Kala, thank you. The last is at the lake ... true November glory!

Indeed Michigan blessed, dear Marysol. Wish you lived near and we could not only cook and photograph together but play in the leaves :)

Thank you, Karin. How kind!

Always so kind, imac. Thank you fun sharing friend :)

Aw, too soon all must come to an end, dear Plant Postings, but it's the circle of life for sure. Thank you. November joy!

I so look forward to your photos Joey, they are always so beautiful! Even though many trees are bare this time of year, the fall color that is left is the most beautiful of all. It has been a stunning autumn. I'll miss all this beauty over the winter.
I can't help but smile at the sight of all these beautiful leaves. I'm willing to sit still and watch the leaves turn...but darn it, all these evergreen trees here are too stubborn to change color! ;) Thank you for sharing yours Joey!

Thank you, Robin, who well knows Michigan beauty. I am in awe and can never capture, to the full degree of my heart, it's raw beauty. But we will sustain each other over the winter, dear sharing friend.

Aw Clare, you have so much beauty/life surrounding you too! Thank you for your kind words. We are blessed to be sharing friends. Your life/knowledge amazes me!

I love this post, the leaf photos are amazing. I was walking the dogs a few weeks ago and the leaves were sailing out of the oak trees in the woods across the road. My little dogs were a bit unnerved since the leaves were really big and my dogs are really small, and it was comical to watch.

My only complaint about fall is it doesn't last long enough. But your photos have captured it perfectly!

Beautiful images, Joey--they really are works of art! Our leaves have mostly tumbled down now, too; fortunately the strong winds the last few days have blown many of them away. If I wait long enough, I may not have to rake them at all:)

HI, Joey, so true that we need to slow down and enjoy the beauty of the season--thank you for capturing so alluringly. Your photos become more a work of art with each post. Bravo. xoxo

You are delightfully kind, Karen, and thank you. And I am with you ... fall does last long enough!

Thank you Sweetbay ... you are a dear!

Ah Rose, thank you ... as I write, ours too are almost gone. But it's been an awesome November so far and for that we are indeed blessed. Happy Thanksgiving :)

Thank you, dear Kathryn. Whether behind the lens, in the garden, or kitchen, it's a joy to create. All feed my soul :)
